Parylene is an optically transparent polymer that is applied in its gaseous phase in a vacuum and is completely pore free. Tricky surfaces and structures e.g. sharp edges, undercuts and small gaps that cannot be coated using liquid based processes can be coated evenly. In one process operation thicknesses from 1μm to 50μm can be applied. There are several different types of Parylene which are suitable for different applications.

Parylene is an excellent preservative coating for delicate artifacts.
Due to the fully conformal coating properties of Parylene it creates a thin, invisible film on artifacts which would otherwise start to decay quickly. Particularly items that are made from Iron or have very delicate fabric structures such as plant, paper, textiles and tissue lends themselves well for preservation using Parylene. Items which need to be displayed and would suffer from dust and exposure such as gold/silver artifacts and animal specimens can be made easier to clean and simply look better and last longer.
It can often save items that would quickly be lost such as (see picture).
Your products are only as good as their surface preparation. To ensure the best possible adhesion to Parylene we use a state-of-the-art cleaning process. This is also available as contract cleaning service.
